- The aim of this research was evaluate the effect of addition propionic acid in broiler diets to the body weight, carcass percentage and abdominal fat percentage. The research was conducted in chicken housing belonged to PT. Satwa Utama Integrasi Broiler from July to August 2017. One hundred and eighty cobb strain, day old chicks of age were kept into colonial cages. Completely randomized design was used in this experiment, with 3 treatments and 6 replications. The treatment diets contained propionic acid : P0 = control; P1 = addition with 0,5% propionic acid; P2 = addition with 0,75% propionic acid. The parameters observed were body weight, carcass percentage and abdominal fat percentage. The results showed that addition propionic acid significantly (P<0.05) on body weight, carcass percentage and abdominal fat percentage. The conclusion of this research that the addition of propionic acid in ration with dose 0,5% can improve the broiler body weight, carcass percentage and abdominal fat percentage.
