- The capacity to think critical students on subjects science is still low . Students still have not been able to in understanding material that has delivered by teachers . As for the study is done aims to ascertain whether there are a difference in the capacity think critically between students experiment use the model learning Meaningful Instructional Design ( MID ) and class control use the model learning direct instruction and know whether learning model Meaningful Instructional Design ( MID ) higher than in learning model Direct Instruction in public primary schools Rawu years lessons 2016 / 2017 on the subjects of natural sciences ( IPA ) to the matter light and its properties . Methods used in research this is the method quasi ekperimen type nonequivalent control group design to technique perposive sampling. Population to research it is a whole grade 5 of public school Rawu from the class VB as a class his experiments with use the model meaningful instructional design ( MID ) and class VA as a class control by use the model learning direct instruction. Based on the research done , the results a difference in the capacity think critically students who seen from its mean value posttest between grade experiment namely 67,30 while in class control namely 48,13. The results of the analysis data using uji-t two parties that thitung = 7,29 >ttable= 2.00 , so H0 rejected Ha accepted . And of the uji-t one parties that thitung= 7,10 >ttable=1.67 , so H0 rejected Ha accepted .Thus can be concluded that there is a difference in the capacity think critically students between the students who use learning model meaningful instructional design ( mid with students who use learning model direct instruction and ability to think critically between students who use learning model Meaningful Instructional Design ( MID ) higher than on the kids who use the model learning Direct Instruction .
