- This research was conducted to find out students' writing ability in descriptive paragraph taught by using Bouncing Stories strategy, and to find out the students' writing ability in descriptive paragraph taught without using bouncing stories strategy, and to discover whether there was a significant effect difference between using Bouncing Stories and without Bouncing Stories strategy on writing ability in descriptive paragraph of the second year students at state senior high school 001 Kampar Utara. The kind of the research was a quasi-experiment. The subjects of the research were 40 students of second year students of state senior high school 001 Kampar Utara. The instruments used to collect the data were students’ writing test, and result was be analyzed by T-test with SPSS computer statistic program, T-tests were used to find out whether or not there was a significant difference effect of using Bouncing Stories strategy on writing ability in descriptive paragraph of the second year students at state senior high school 001 Kampar Utara. Based on the data analysis, the value of the post-test of experimental and control classes showed that, the average score of experimental class is 68.70 and the standard deviation is 9.82. Meanwhile, the average value of the control class is 59.60 and the standard deviation is 58.62. The results of T-test value is 9.822 which is higher than the T-table at the significance level of 5% (2.02), and the significant level of 1% (2.72). From these results it can be stated that 2.02<9.82> 2.72. This means that Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. In other words, there was a significant effect of using Bouncing Stories strategy on writing ability in descriptive paragraph of the second year students at state senior high school 001 Kampar Utara. The writer concluded that the use of Bouncing Stories strategy is an appropriate strategy for teaching and improve students' writing ability in descriptive paragraph of the second year at state senior high school 001 Kampar Utara.
