writing ability taught without using paired writing method, is how students’
writing ability taught by using paired writing method, is and whether there is
significant effect of using paired writing method toward writing ability of the
second year students at MA HasanahPekanbaru.
The subject of this research was the second year students of MA
HasanahPekanbaru. The writer took two classes at the school as population which
consisted of 28 students. Then, all of the populations were taken as sample. Each
of the classes named control class and experimental class. The variables involved
in this research were the use of paired writing method as x variable and writing
ability as y variable.
The type of the research used was quasi-experimental research. The writer
took pretest-post-test non-equivalent group design. The technique of collecting
data was test. The test was used to know the students’ writing ability. The first
step was done by giving pre-test to both of classes. Then the writer gave treatment
to experimental class for 6 meetings, while the control class was given the
conventional technique. In the next step, the writer gave post-test to both of
classes.
Based on data analysis, the writer found that to is 8.061, higher than ttable
2.06 in significant level of 5% and 2.78 in 1%, 2.06<8.061>2.78. So, it can be
concluded that Ha accepted, Ho rejected. It means that there is significant effect of
using paired writing method toward writing ability of the second year students at
