- Based on the researcher’s preliminary study, it was found that some of the students were not able to identify the topic of narrative text, the information of narrative text, the generic structure of narrative text, make inference and reference from the text and the language features of narrative text.The purpose of this research was to obtain the effect of using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) on Second Grade Students’ Reading Comprehension of Narrative Text at Islamic Junior High SchoolPP.Al-Muhajirin Sukamulya BangkinangSeberang.So, the researcher was interested in carrying out the research about this problem.To analyze the data, the researcher used independent sample t-test formula by using software SPSS 23.00.After analyzing the data, the researcher found that was a significant effect of using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) on Second Grade Students’ Reading Comprehension of Narrative Text at Islamic Junior High SchoolPP.Al-Muhajirin Sukamulya BangkinangSeberang, where towas higher than tt in significance level of 5% and 1%. In other words, it can be read 1.686<6.418>2.429. It means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In other words, there is a significant difference on students’ reading comprehension of narrative text taught by using and without using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) on Second Grade Students’ Reading Comprehension of Narrative Text at Islamic Junior High SchoolPP.Al-Muhajirin Sukamulya BangkinangSeberang.
