  • The use of matchmoving techniques in the world of motion graphic is not a novelty. Here the author tried to present a paper and a creation of matchmoving which is implied into a motion graphic form of UMN TV station ID. Matchmoving is a technique in which elements of the computer-generated (CG) are merged into a live-action footage. Merging is done by tracking the movements or particular object in the footage. The result of the tracking will then be used for the calibration process, a process of defining a virtual camera that is similar to the movement of live-action camera. So that when the digital elements are combined into a live-action footage, it will have the same position, scale/size, and movement. At last but not least, the author expects for the future use of 3D matchmoving techniques be more developed in Indonesia and are able to bring a fresh breeze for beginners who want to plunge themselves into the world of animation and motion graphic.
