  • Gadung (Dioscorea bulbifera L.) has the potential to produce bioethanol through fermentation with the aid of yeast Saccaromyces cereviceae, that have economic value and can be used as an alternative material transportation fuels. The purpose of this research to determine the effect of fermentation period to glucose and bioethanol consentarion of D. bulbifera that produced using S. Cereviceae. This research was conducted in the laboratory of Kopertis Wilayah X Padang on June 2011. The method is complite randomized block design with four treatments and four replication. Data were analized by ANOVA and continiued by Honestly Real Difference on the real level 5%. Results of this research showed (Farth: 0< Ftab 3,49 α5%) on the periode of fermentation 5 days had no effect to glucose level with a dose of yeast 2,5/250 gr. The analysis showed that periode of fermentation an effect on bioethanol from D. bulbifera fermentation. The highest alkohol content in treatment D, with a yeast consentartion 2,5 gram per 250 gram sample is 8,61%
