  • The research was classroom action research that aimed to describe the implementation of snowball technique to increase students’ speaking ability. The subject of this research consists of 7 males and 18 females at the second grade students of SMK N 6 Kota Bengkulu in academic year 2016/2017. The instruments of this research were speaking test, observation checklist, field notes and questionnaire. This research was focus on students’ speaking ability, and conducted in two cycles with three meetings in each cycle. The result of this research showed that the implementation of snowball technique in speaking class could increase the students’ speaking ability. The result at the end of cycle 1 showed that 65, 44% students didn’t pass the passing grade and then increase become 77, 44% students passed the passing grade at the end of cycle 2. The result was then discussed.
