- Instagram is an application for sharing photos and videos, President Jokowi also uses Instagram as a form of policy to keep up with the times, but along with the use of active Instagram by President Jokowi, it has created a polemic like Hatespeech is spreading on President Jokowi's Instagram social media This research was conducted to find out the reception of the University of Mercubuana Broadcasting Student on Hatespeech on Instagram President Jokowi's, this study used a qualitative descriptive approach. and the constructivism paradigm With interviews as a technique for collecting data. The researcher used the reception analysis study theory Stuart Hall. the public is placed in three positions, namely dominant hegemony, negotiation, and opposition. The results showed that if President Jokowi's use of instagram's social media on the presidential Jokowi's Instagram media was interpreted in a variety of ways, eight informants interpreted it based on the Dominant code, and one informant in the Negotiation position. In the causes of hatespeech informants having similarities and interpreted based on the negotiation code. In the element of Hatespeech against Jokowi's figure, six Opposition informants, and two interpreted Negotiation. In the hatespeech informants, they have the same meaning of the Opposition code. In punishment for hatespeech perpetrators, informants have the same dominant code. Keywords: Instagram, President Jokowi, Hatespeech Instagram merupakan sebuah aplikasi berbagi foto dan video, Presiden Jokowi pun menggunakan instagram sebagai bentuk kebijakan mengikuti perkembangan zaman, namun seiring penggunaan instagram aktif oleh Presiden Jokowi, menimbulkan suatu polemik seperti halnya hatespeech yang merebak di media sosial instagram Presiden Jokowi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui resepsi Mahasiswa Broadcasting Universitas Mercubuana atas hatespeech di instagram presiden Jokowi, Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Deskriptif kualitatif. dan Paradigma konstruktivisme Dengan wawancara sebagai tekhnik pengumpulan data. Peneliti menggunakan teori studi analisis resepsi Stuart Hall. khalayak ditempatkan pada tiga posisi, yaitu hegemoni dominan, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jika hatespeech di media sosial instagram presiden Jokowi dimaknai secara beragam dalam unsur penggunaan instagram oleh Presiden Jokowi delapan informan memaknai berdasarkan kode Dominan, dan satu informan diposisi Negosiasi. Dalam unsur penyebab hatespeech informan memiliki persamaan dan dimaknai berdasarkan kode negosiasi. Dalam unsur hatespeech terhadap sosok Jokowi, enam informan Oposisi, dan dua memaknai Negosiasi. Dalam pelaku hatespeech informan memiliki persamaan pemaknaan kode Oposisi. Dalam hukuman bagi pelaku hatespeech informan memiliki persamaan kode Dominan.
