  • The purpose of this study was to improve critical thinking skills and student collaboration ninth grade 3 SMP Negeri 4 Cape on subjects Civics through problem-based learning (PBM. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (Classroom Action Research) with the actions taken by three cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages of continuous namely: (1) planning, (2) execution; (3) the observation / observation; and (4) reflection. based on the observation of the implementation of learning using problem based learning (PBM) as a variable action on the first cycle action variable performance indicators reached 67.5%, then on the second cycle increased by 80%, and the third cycle was 90%. this amount has exceeded the variable performance indicator criteria specified action by 85%. While the data critical thinking skills the expectation variables obtained through the implementation of the action variable, problem-based learning (PBM) in the first cycle performance indicators expectancy reached 68.75% variable, then on the second cycle increased by 84.4%, and the third cycle reached 90.6%. This amount has exceeded the expectations of the variable performance indicator criteria set at 85%. While the cooperation attitude of students as a variable expectations cooperation attitude data obtained in the first cycle of 75% at the second cycle of 84.4% in the third cycle of 90.6%.
