  • This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Nutrition science and animal feed, Faculty of Animal Science, University of Mataram. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different additives on the quality of physical and pH king grass silage (Pennisetum purphureophoides). The material used in this study is King grass, maize bran, rice bran, molasses, granulated sugar and brown sugar. The method used in this research was experiment using a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and each treatment was repeated 3 times. The treatment is P0 : King grass silage without additive, P1 : King grass silage + additive corn 10 % P2 : King grass silage + additive rice bran 10 %, P3 : King grass silage + additive brown sugar 3 % , P4 : King grass silage + molasses additive 3 %, P5 : King grass silage + additive sugar 3 % . The variables measured were physical qualities ( smell, texture, color, mold and clumping ), degree of acidity (pH) and moisture. The use of corn bran as King Grass silage additive materials result in the optimal pH value compared with other additives .
