Pengaruh Penambahan Sari Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa Bilimbi L.) Dalam Pakan Terhadap Mikroflora Usus Ayam Petelur

  • The aim of this study was to observe the effect of Averrhoa bilimbi L. juice as feed additive on microflora population on layer hen’s intestinal microflora consisted of lactic acid bacteria, Salmonella sp, and Escherichia coli. The method used on this study was experiments using Complete Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments were P0=Control diet, P1=Control diet+2,1 g of Averrhoa bilimbi L. Juice, P2= Control diet+4,2 g of Averrhoa bilimbi L. Juice, and P3= Control diet+6,3 g of Averrhoa bilimbi L. Juice. Variables observed on this study were intestinal population of lactic acid bacteria, Salmonella sp, dan Escherichia coli. if there was a difference among treatments, the test was then followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the use of Averrhoa bilimbi L. Juice gave significant effect (P<0,01) on the population of Lactic Acid Bacteria and Salmonella sp, on Lactic Acid Bacteria count the best result was obtained for P2 with average result viii 5,15±0,05 log CFU, on Salmonella sp count the best result was obtained for P2 with average result 2,75±0,08 log CFU. The use of Averrhoa bilimbi L. gave no significant effect (p>0,05) to the population of Escherichia coli count, the best result was on P3 with average result 3,10±0,05 log CFU. This results were due to the existance of organics acid on Averrhoa bilimbi L. Juice added to feed. Further studies are needed in order to gather more information about the effect of Averrhoa bilimbi L. juice as feed additive on other types of microflora.
