in conveying information to farmer groups, the effectiveness of communication in
Upsus Pajale program in receiving information given by extension agent, and to
know factors deals with communication effectiveness in the program. This
research was conducted intentionally in Sidosari Village, Natar Subdistrict, South
Lampung District. The samples of this research are 70 farmers members of
farmer groups that followed Upsus Pajale program. Data were collected in May June

2017. The data were analyzed descriptively and using Spearman rank test.
The results showed that communication process that happened in Sidosari Village is the process of communication of cyclical when all communicators can act as senders and recipients of messages. There is a significant relationship between proximity level, extension credibility, extension’s attitude, and frequency of visits to farmer groups with communication effectiveness. There is no significant
relationship between age, education and length of time with communication effectiveness. The effectiveness of communication in agricultural extension activities is effective, on the level of knowledge and attitude of farmers to the program activities is in the high category and at the behavioral level in the medium category.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 
(
1)
mengetahui proses komunikasi
penyuluh dalam menyampaikan informasi dari program pertanian kepada
kelompok tani, 
(
2)
mengetahui efektivitas komunikasi pada program Upsus Pajale
dalam menerima informasi yang disampaikan penyuluh, 
(
3
)
mengetahui faktorfaktor
apa saja yang berhubungan dengan efektivitas komunikasi dalam program
Upsus Pajale di desa Sidosari. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Sidosari
Kecamatan Natar Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Pemilihan lokasi dilakukan
secara sengaja. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 70 orang petani yang tergabung
dalam kelompok tani yang mengikuti program Upsus Pajale. Pengambilan data
penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Mei 2017 sampai dengan bulan Juni 2017.
Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan uji rank spearman. Hasil
penelitian adalah: 
(1)proses komunikasi yang terjadi di Desa Sidosari adalah
proses komunikasi sikuler yaitu semua pelaku komunikasi bias bertindak sebagai
pengirim dan penerima pesan; 
(2)terdapat hubungan yang nyata antara variabel
tingkat kedekatan, kredibilitas penyuluh, sikap penyuluh dan frekuensi kunjungan
ke kelompok tani dengan efektivitas komunikasi dan tidak terdapat hubungan
yang nyata antara variabel usia, pendidikan dan lama waktu berusahatani dengan
efektivitas komunikasi; 
(3)efektivitas komunikasi dalam kegiatan penyuluhan
pertanian tergolong efektif, pada tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap petani terhadap
program kegiatan penyuluhan dalam kategori tinggi dan pada tingkat behavioral
dalam kategori sedang.
