  • The depletion of fossil fuel sources, spurred communities to search and develop alternative energy sources instead of fossil fuels (petroleum and coal). Briquette is the easiest and cheapest alternative energy in its manufacture. Materials for the manufacture of briquettes can use waste derived from plants such as bagasse and corncobs. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the comparison of the mixture of charcoal of bagasse and mixture of charcoal of corncobs according to standard. This research uses multi variation method where statistical analysis used in this research by RSM (Response Surface Method) with 3 parameters and 3 variations. Parameter I is the composition of raw material of briquettes such as 5 grams: 40 grams, 15 grams: 30 grams, 25 grams: 20 grams, parameter II is briquette diameter with size 5 cm, 6 cm, 7 cm, and parameter III that is grain material size of 10 mesh, 20 mesh, 30 mesh with 5grams starch glue and 50 grams in total briquette weight. Testing the briquettes characteristics by testing the calorific value, ash content, and compressive strength. The results of this study indicate that each parameter affects the tests performed. The average test result is 6755 cal / gram, the compressive strength is 4.802 kg / cm2, ash content is 8.708%.
