  • This study aims to determine the ability of problem solving and mathematical reasoning about the High Order Thinking Skill of Junior High School students on the application of metoe student teams achievement division with a problem based learning approach. This research is a type of descriptive research with the approach used is a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at SMP 2 Kota Bima. The location of the study was chosen because this school was a school whose learning had arrived at the material used in the research instrument. In addition, there is no research in problem solving and reasoning in the junior high school so that the authenticity of the results obtained is better. The research subjects were 23 students of class VIII A. The object to be examined in this study was the application of the STAD method with the PBL approach, problem solving abilities and reasoning abilities. The results showed that learning using the student teams achievement division method with a problem based learning approach to problem solving abilities and mathematical reasoning of students in learning can be seen from each meeting students experienced an increaseThe results of the test analysis for students' problem solving abilities obtained a percentage of 85.05% with very good categories, while the results of the analysis of tests of mathematical reasoning abilities of students obtained a percentage of 82.24% with good categories, and this showed that students had problem solving and mathematical research skills through applying the method of the student teams achievement division method with a problem based learning approach.
