  • Koi fish can improve or beautify the color with the Oral process or feeding that contains coloring agents. The increase in black, especially in the Shiro type can be done by adding squid ink to the feed. Squid ink contains melanin up to 90%. Melanin is a black substance that is used by the epidermal tissue as a coloring for the body of a living creature. This research was carried out using an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) experimental design. conducted squid ink supplement supplementation on pf-1000 commercial feed and feed application on koi fish culture (Cyprinus Carpio) type of shiro in order to get a black increase in fish scales. Factors in this study have 3 levels, namely squid ink sowing with a concentration of 1%, 3%, 5% and 0% as a control. This research was carried out 3 times. Observation parameters include, color testing with color reader and scoring by panelists, water quality (pH, DO, temperature and ammonia) and fish growth (weight and length). The results showed that the addition of squid ink in koi fish feed had no significant effect on the growth of koi fish color. In this study it is possible to lack the concentration range given to the addition of squid ink in feed. Each treatment has a gradual increase in color from 0% to 5%.
