- The plants of lemongrass and basil all this time is underuntilized, except to the food flavoring. Methyl eugenol be contained in lamograss and basil oil be discovered can be to used as attractant can be to interesting the fruit flies. The contained of methyl eugenol can be able with the steam distilation. The porpuse of this research to find out whether essential oil from lemongrass and basil also the colors trap to interesting the frius flies come on the trap. Where output from this research can be used to learning resource of biology. The research be divided to 4 step is: distilasion, making trap, installation trap, and observation. In the research essential oil and colors combined. Types of research is Quasi Eksperiment Design because is does not a control and design of research randomized group design. Dose of essential oil is 1 ml dropped on the cotton, then put in a colored trap. Data analysis technique is two way anova and Duncan’s test. Output of the research showing at the effect from essential oil and colors trap to be trapped fruit flies. The combination between lemongrass essential oil and yellow trap to get maximum output. Result of the research can be used to learning resource of biology, learning materials is utiliztion of living natural resources from the plants is the essential oil.
