  • Research on the use of cocoa bean skin (Theobroma Cacao) fermentation to feed consumption and the increase of body weight of local sheep male. The material used in this study is 15 male thin tailed sheep will be 1,5 years old with intial weight ranging from 14 to 20 kilogram. Sheep are grouped by initial weight to K1 = 14 – 16 kilogram, K2 = 16 – 18 kilogram, K3 = 18 – 20 kilogram. The measured variable is feed consumption in kg/head/day and weight gain in gram/head/day for 1 month. This research method used experimental research experimentally and using randomized block design (RAK). The treatments were five levels : P0 = 100% forage, P1 = 75% forage + 25% skin fermentation cocoa beans, P2 = 50% forage + 50% skin fermentation cocoa beans, P3 = 25% forage + 75% fermentation cocoa beans, P4 = 100% skin fermentation cocoa beans skin. The analysis used is t – test. If the treatment has a significant effect on the observed change then it will be continued with further teasting of duncan. The results of this study showed that the use of fermented cocoa bean husk on feed consumption of male thin – tailed sheep in treatment was very significant (P<0,01) in the highest consumption of feed at treatment P1 (2,589 gram/head/day) cocoa fermentation to increase body weight significantly (P<0,01).
