The researcher collected the data by doing an interview with the teacher and observation in reading class. Moreover, the researcher used semi structured interview which means the researcher has some questions for teacher and another questions was based on the teacher's answer. While in observation, the researcher was the observer as participant by observing without being active in the event. Furthermore, the researcher analyzed the data from interview transcript, field notes, audio recordings and pictures.&#xD; &#xD; Based on the research, code-switching that the teacher used by inter-sentential, intra-sentential and translating English to Bahasa Indonesia. Besides, the teacher used code-switching to make sure the students understood the material that the teacher explained and for giving motivation to students.
