- Supervision of nutrition is important for underweight newborn to meet the needs of underweight newborn infants because the digestive system is still not perfect, small stomach, immature digestive enzymes, whereas the protein needs of 3-5 g/kg body weight and calories 110 cal/kg body weigh.
