Civil engineering (General)</subject><description>The downside is that the concrete partition walls have a high specific gravity that affects the dead load acting on the building. Use of Styrofoam in the manufacture of the partition wall because it has a lighter specific gravity and intended to utilize a hard Styrofoam waste decomposes. In this experiment the specimen used for compressive strength testing of mortar is a cube measuring 50 x 50 x 50 mm and for flexural strength testing is a panel measuring 600 x 400 x 100 mm. Total of test specimen is 3 test object for each variation of the percentage of Styrofoam. It?s used Styrofoam which is grated in machine. Styrofoam as a percentage of added material is 0%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% of the volume of sand. The results showed that the addition of Styrofoam resulting in decreased compressive strength and flexural strength mortar wall partitions.
