The results of this study are presented from data on pretest and posttest scores. It can be noticed from the mean pre-test score (51.31) and post-test mean score (67.85) for the experimental class. On the other hand, based on statistical calculations, the values of to (3.14) and df (68) were significant 5% (ttable = 1,66) and significance 1% (ttable = 2,38). ). Comparing to the to and ttable, the result is to > ttable = 3,14 > 1,66 and to > ttable = 3,14 > 2,38. It means that tobservation (to) is higher than ttable (tt), so Null Hypothesis (HO) is rejected and Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that using Know-Want-Learn strategies in writing descriptive text has significant impact on improving students’ writing ability.
