- Teratogenic effect of Ruta graveolens L extract on white mice has been investigated. The extract was given orally at doses of 125, 250 and 500 mg/kg BW commencing on day 6 until 15 of pregnancy and followed by eviscerating two third of the fetuses with red alizaria solution and the others were hardened in Bonin’s fixation solution. The experiment showed that the extract at the doses of 125, 250 and 500 mg/kg BW influenced body weight of mouse and fetus significantly, but not the number of fetuses. The doses at 500 mg/kg BW caused abortica Malformation such as absorption site observed on the doses of 500mg/kg BW, and the loss of eyelid, pinnae, syndactyl and tail curling at the dose of 250mg/kg BB.
