Wawan Prahiawan, SE., MM and H. Asep Supriadi, SE., MM., MSi. This research aims to analyze the influence of compensation and job characteristics on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable (regional drinking water company Pandeglang district) In this research there are four variables, Compensation (X1), Job Characteristics (X2) Employee Performance (Y) and Job Satisfaction (Z). This research involved all employees at regional drinking water company Pandeglang district as a sample 70 employees. The type of data used to complement this study uses primary and secondary data. Data sources used in this study include using respondents, informants and literature. To get an accurate results, in this research used interviews, and questionnaires. This research used validity and reliability test, data analysis, test instruments, classical test, t test, road variables analysis, and sobel test by using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 20 Version. The results of this research indicate that : (1) Compensation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. (2) Job Characteristics has a positive and not significant effect on employee performance. (3) Compensation has a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction. (4) Job Characteristics has a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction. (5) Job Satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee Performance. (6) Job Satisfaction as an Intervening variable cannot mediate the influence of the compensation on employee performance. (7) Job Satisfaction as an intervening variable can mediate the effect job characteristics on employee performance.
