- ANALYSIS OF ABILITY TO PAY AND WILLINGNESS TO PAY THE USER OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (STUDY CASE : PERUM DAMRI ROUTE CILEGON – BANDARA SOEKARNO-HATTA) Tama Putra Tua 1 , Hadi Setiawan ABSTRACT vii 2 , Nuraida Wahyuni 3 Banten is a province on the island of Java.which has a rapid growth. Cilegon is a city that has the largest industrial area in Banten. Moreover Banten has Soekarno-Hatta international airport which makes this province seemingly never slept with a variety of activities. As a point which has a fairly high density of activity, land transportation system especially public transportation is very important and needed by the people of Banten. The city bus is one of the public transportation that is widely used by the people of Banten. As a provider of public transportation services, Perum Damri is the sole provider of buses that has a direct route toward both places. Currently, the fares of Cilegon – Bandara Soekarno-Hatta is Rp 45.000,00 and Perum Damri plans to raise the fares on this route. This study was conducted to determine ability to pay and willingness to pay the service user of public transportation at bus of Damri on the route Cilegon – Bandara Soekarno-Hatta which will be consideration of Perum Damri in raising fares. The methods that used in this study is ability to pay and willingness to pay. From the data that has been processed, gained ability to pay is Rp 77.042,00 and willingness to pay is Rp 45.981,00. If it is to raise the fares without improving services, Perum Damri may to raise the fares until the limit value of willingness to pay. Meanwhile if there is improving services, Perum Damri has flexibility in raising the fares until the limit value of ability to pay service users bus of Damri.
