- Background of this research is the low students learning outcomes on social studies. Thus, the obtained conditions of student learning activities as follows: (1) Students are bored, because it becomes less attractive learning social studies (2) Students tend to still embarrassed to ask and express their opinions. The purpose of this research is to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of cooperative learning model type Snowball Drilling. Subjects in this study were sixth grade students of SDN Pagedangan II, the number of 34 students, consisting of 16 male students and 18 female students. This research used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) by implementing cooperative learning model type Snowball Drilling, which is implemented in two cycles in accordance with the flow chart of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. Based on the research that has been carried out, showing that the initial data or pre-cycle students’ learning outcomes seen from the daily tests, the average score of students reached 62,35, with 53% completeness criteria. First cycle test which was held on 08 September 2014, indicates that students’ learning outcomes in the first cycle reached an average value of 69,41, with 68% completeness criteria and have increased in the second cycle which was held on 15 September 2014, showed that learning outcomes of students in the second cycle reached an average value of 81,47, with 94% completeness criteria. This means that the acquisition of learning outcomes in the second cycle has reached an indicator of success is 80%. In addition, the average percentage of student activity also increased from the first cycle to the second cycle. The average percentage of students in the first cycle of activity that is 70% increase in the second cycle to 94%. The acquisition has reached a predetermined indicators of success that is equal to 80%. This study concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model type Snowball Drilling can improve students’ learning outcomes in social studies of sixth grade
