- Everybody needs food in require of their life. Raw foods that are often consumed and easily obtained are salted fish. Salted fish is the result of fish made from fish meat preserved by salting process. But in its development a lot of salted fish processing uses of Food Additives (BTP) in this case is harmful formaldehyde. This thesis research was carried out in the Market Rau Trade Center (RTC) Serang, by examining anchovies and anchovies petek types of terrain. Results of the study sample of dried fish seventh positive petek containing formalin and five of the seven sample teri field contained formalin. To protect the consumen as the starting measuring is Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumen Protection. Therefore, the authors wanted to know how the efforts of the City Health Office Attack on trade in salted fish containing formaldehyde and legal efforts to do the consumers in case of health problems from consuming it. This research in using a normative empirical research with juridical sociologist and the data was primer and secondary. After gain the data was processed by the researcher using qualitative method. Qualitative metheod is where the data interpreted by using sentences and then the researcher can conclude it. The result in this research based on the efforts from Serang City Health Office to trade salted fish that use of Food Additives (BTP) is by given the socialization, promotion about the healthy live, socialization with the other division, the citizen and also giving them the example. Consumer can bring a legal action through the courts that the District Court or through out of court namely Consumer Dispute Settlement Board (BPSK) and related agencies.
