  • This study aimed to describe improving reading skills Qur'an eighth grade students of MTs Daar El-Qolam using cooperative method of type Student Teams Achievement Division and describe changes in the behavior of students of class VIII MTs Daar El-Qolam in reading the Quran after using the method of type Cooperative Student Teams Achievement Division and to describe the motivation of students of class VIII MTs Daar El-Qolam in reading the Qur'an using methods Cooperative type Student Teams Achievement Division. Subjects who were targeted were students Pesantren Daar El-Qolam Gintung, Tangerang Jayanti. This study was conducted in one class is class VIII E totaling 38 students, consisting of 21 sons and 17 daughters. This research method using a method of classroom action research (PTK ) with three cycles were carried out at class VIII E MTs Pesantren Daar el-Qolam. The first cycle, second cycle and third cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. There are four aspects tested assessment is 1. Accuracy maakhorijul letters 2. Use tajwid 3. Reading the Qur'an with tartil and smoothly 4. Adab reading the Qur'an. The findings and the discussion that in the first cycle, from the test results of reading the Qur'an held obtained an average value of 65.87 or less well categorized and needs improvement. In the second cycle increased by an average of 7.98 from the first cycle that becomes 73.85. The result was satisfactory but still need ongoing training and guidance from the teacher. Then in the third cycle happens again increase of 7.15 of the average cycle II that became 81 The result is quite satisfactory. Based on the findings and discussion, it can be concluded that the use of cooperative learning model of type Student Teams Achievement Division can increase the skill of reading the Qur'an class VIII MTs Daar El-Qolam and can give changes to the students' learning behavior in a positive direction and can increase student motivation class VIII MTs Daar El-Qolam Gintung Jayanti Tangerang in reading the Koran
