Poyphenol substances in Piper betle Linn, as an antiseptic agent, could decreased dental plaque formation by suppressing (inhibiting) glucosyltransferase enzyme activities of Streptococcus mutans.&#xD; Objective : The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial effect of Pper betle Linn infusin on Streptococcus mutans in different contact time and concentration.&#xD; Method : This study was an experimental study using post test only control group design. Piper betle Linn infusion&#x2019;s concentration were 100% and 50%, with contact times of 30 and 120 seconds. The optimal combination of concentration and contact time was determined by visual clarity of the suspension.
