Restoration is always associated with fluids , such as saliva and drinks. Influence
of different drinks can affect the durability composite, especially soft drinks. The
purpose of this study was to compare the surface roughness of hybrid composite
resin and resin composite silorane soaked in soft drinks .
Subjects consist of 20 resin composite cylinder which have a diameter of 5
mm with a height of 2 mm. Divided into two groups, group I consist of 10 hybrid
composite resin restoration and group II consist of 10 silorane composite resin
restoration. All composite resin restoration soaked in soft drinks 10 minutes each
day for 14 days. After that subjects surface roughness were measured with
Examen Union 81837 and 20 times magnification then analyzed the data using the
t test with a 95% confidence level ( α = 0,05 ) .
The mean level in group 1 and 2 respectively 0.09 ± 0.017 and 00.04 ±
0.006 . With the t test test there were difference in surface roughness between
