EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DITINJAU DARI PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS SISWA

  • This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of problem based learning viewed by student's understanding of mathematical concepts. This research used post-test only control design. The population of this research was all grade 8th students of SMPN 1 Terbanggi Besar in the academic year of 2014/2015. By purposive random sampling technique, it was chosen students of VIII.C and VIII.D class as research samples. This research data were obtained by test of understanding of mathematical concepts. Based on the result of research, it could be concluded that problem based learning was not effective viewed by student's understanding of mathematical concepts but more effective than conventional learning model.Penelitian kuasi eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan post-test only control design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester genap SMPN 1 Terbanggi Besar tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Melalui purposive random sampling terpilih siswa kelas VIII.C dan VIII.D sebagai sampel penelitian. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa model PBL tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa namun lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: konvensinal, pemahaman konsep matematis, problem based learning
