EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA

  • This research aimed to know the effectiveness of problem based learning model viewed by students' mathematical communication skill. This research design was posttest only control group. The population of this research was all students of grade XIst of science of SMAN 7 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2014/2015 that was distributed into 5 classes. The samples of this research were students of XI IPA 4 and XI IPA 5 who were taken by purposive random sampling technique. This research data were data of mathematical communication skill. Based on the analysis of data, the proportion of students who have good mathematical communication skill in problem based learning model was more than 0,5 and higher than conventional learning. Thus, viewed by students' mathematical communication skill, problem based learning model was effective and more effective than conventional model.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 7 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdistribusi dalam lima kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 4 dan XI IPA 5 yang diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian ini adalah data kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, proporsi siswa yang memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis baik pada model problem based learning lebih dari 0,5 dan lebih tinggi daripada model konvensional. Dengan demikian, ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, model problem based learning efektif dan lebih efektif daripada model konvensional.Kata kunci: komunikasi matematis, model konvensional, problem based learning
