- This pre-experimental design research aimed to know the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model of TPS type is viewed by student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. This research population was all students of grade 7th of MTsN 2 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2014/2015. This research sample was students of VII E class whom were chosen by purposive sampling technique. This research used one-shot case study. Based on hypothesis testing, the percentage of students who understand mathematical conceptual understanding with the cooperative learning model of TPS type was less than 65%. Thus, the cooperative learning model of TPS was not effective towards student’s mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian pre-experimental design ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif TPS ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 2 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII E yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah one-shot case study. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, persentase siswa yang memahami konsep matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS kurang dari 65%. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS tidak efektif terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis.Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep matematis, pembelajaran kooperatif, TPS
