- This quasi-experimental study aimed to know the effect of learning model of TPS towards students mathematical conceptual understanding. The population of this study was all of grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 1 GedongTataan in academic year of 2013/2014. The samples of this study were students of VIIIE and VIIIF class who selected by purposive sampling. The study design was posttest control design. Based on data analysis, it was concluded that learning model of TPS affect towards studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran TPS terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gedong Tataan tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIE dan VIIIF yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling. Desain penelitian adalah posttest control design. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran TPS berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: konvensional, pemahaman konsep, think pair share
