- This quasi-experimental research aimed to determine the effect of cooperative learning model of TPS type towards studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding. The research population was all students of grade  VII of SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014. The research samples were students of VII H and VII G class who were taken by purposive sampling. The research design was posttest only control design. Based on the analysis of data, it was obtained the conclusion that studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding with TPS learning was higher than conventional learning. Thus, TPS learning affect the studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII H dan VII G yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Desain penelitian adalah posttest only control design. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh simpulan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran TPS lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran konvensional. Jadi, pembelajaran TPS berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: konvensional, pemahaman konsep matematika, TPS
