  • This research aims to find influence of the implementation SQ4R learning strategy towards studentsâ€TMs understanding of mathematical concept.  It was quasi experiment and the design of the research was posstest only control group design.  The population in this research were the first year students of SMA Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2012/2013 who generally had the same cognitive ability. The sample are class X.4 and X.6 which were choosen by  purposive random sampling technique. Based on hypothesis test by using a nonparametric  statistical test at level of significant 5% , studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding at class using SQ4R learning strategy is not different with that of using conventional learning, it showed that SQ4R learning strategy has not influence towards understanding about mathematical concept of first year students of SMA Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung  at even semester in the academic year 2012/2013.Keywords: Influence, SQ4R learning strategy, Understanding of mathematical concept.
