- This quasi-experimental research aimed to determine the influence of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share (TPS) type towards studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding. Design which used was a posttest only control group. The population is all students in 7th Grade of SMPN 1 Merbau Mataram in the academic year 2012/2013. The samples are students of VIIA and VIIB by purposive sampling. The instrument is mathematical conceptual understanding test. Based on the result of hypotesis test, the average of studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding in cooperative learning model of TPS type class is better than the average of studentâ€TMs mathematical conceptual understanding in conventional learning model class. So, it was concluded that the cooperative learning model of TPS type affects mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh  model  pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.  Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control group design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VII semester genap SMP Negeri 1 Merbau Mataram tahun pelajaran 2012/2013.  Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIB yang diambil secara purposive sampling.  Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis, Berdasarkan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t, rata-rata pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS lebih baik dari model pembelajaran konvensional pada taraf nyata 5%.   Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VII semester genap SMP Negeri 1 Merbau Mataram tahun pelajaran 2012/2013.Kata Kunci: pengaruh, Think Pair Share, pemahaman konsep matematis
