  • This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effect of Think Pair Share cooperative learning model toward students conceptual understanding of mathematics. This research used posttest only control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2016/2017. Through purposive sampling technique, 2 classes were taken as the samples. The technique that used in this research is technical test. Analysis data of this reasearch used Mann-Whiteney U test. Based on the result of research, it was concluded that Think Pair Share cooperative learning model have an effect on students conceptual understanding of mathematics.Penelitian eksĀ­perimental semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Melalui teknik purposive sampling 2 kelas diambil sebagai sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik tes. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Mann-Whiteney U. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: Pemahaman Konsep, Pembelajaran Kooperatif, Think Pair Share
