EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS SISWA

  • This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of problem based learning in the terms of student’s understanding of mathematical concepts. This research used pretest-posttest control design with population was all students of grade seven of SMPN 2 Way Seputih in academic year of 2014/2015 and samples were students of VIIA and VIIC class that were chosen by purposive random sampling. The data of research were obtained by essay test. Based on the result of research, it could be concluded that problem based learning model was not effective in the terms of student's understanding of mathematical concept, but more effective than conventional learning model.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control design dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Way Seputih tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 dan sampel adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIC yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes uraian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa model PBL tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa namun lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: efektivitas, pemahaman konsep, problem based learning
