- Department of Chemistry, Regional Engineering College, Rourkela-769 008 Manuscript received 15 May 1989, revised 28 November 1989, accepted 30 March 1990 The complexes of 3-amino(pyrid-2-yl)thiourea having the stoichiometry ML2X2, where M-CuII, CoII, NiII ; L-ligand ; X- Ci-, Br-, NO\(\bar{3}\) and CI04 -, have been prepared and characterised by magnetic, conductance, uv and ir spectral studies. The ir spectra reveals bidentate nature of the ligand and the electronic spectra suggest the octahedral geometry. All the complexes are paramagnetic in nature.
