  • The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has introduced to increase the use of biofuels. Therefore, the development of alternative needed fuels one of them is bioethanol. Carbohydrates of banana weevil is 66.2 grams per 100 grams of material, the carbohydrate is one ingredient that can be used as raw material for bioethanol production. This aims study aims is determine the effect of incubation temperature variations and types of yeast in the manufacture of bioethanol from banana weevil waste into bioethanol. The incubation temperature variation is 20°C, 25°C, 30°C, 35°C, and 40°C, as well as the type of yeast used is the bread yeast and tape yeast. Comparison of raw materials and water in banana weevil research is 1:8, where the starch is used at 100 grams and 800 mL of water. To determine the purity level is obtaining bioethanol then analyzed using gas chromatography, determining the refractive index using a refractometer, and the etermination of the volume of bioethanol obtained. The optimum incubation temperature results obtained from this study is at a temperature of 30°C and a good type of yeast used is the bread yeast with bioethanol content of 0.6744%, the refractive index of 1.33412 and a volume of 9.6 mL.
