  • The purpose of this research is to increase students’ recount writing skills after using Praise-Question-Polish (PQP) strategy of the second grade of MTSN 1 East Lampung. The kind of the research was classroom action research (CAR) type, and it was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps namely were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data collection method in this research included test, observation, documentation, and field note. The result of this research shows that Praise-Question-Polish Strategy has positive role in improvement the recount writing skills of the second grade of MTSN 1 East Lampung. It can be seen in the students’ average scores from pre test to post test. The average score in pre test was 34.7and in post test was 59.4became 75. It meansthat the using of Praise-Question-Polish Strategy can increase recount writing skills of the students at the second grade of MTS N 1 East Lampung.
