  • The objective of this research is to find outthat applying Team Assisted Individualization Technique is effective to improve students’ ability to write analytical exposition text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Palu. The researcher applied quasi-experimental research design. The purposive sampling technique was selected to draw the sample of this research; 27 students of XI IPS 3 as the experimental group and 26 students of XI IPS 4 as the control group. The data were collected by using pretest and posttest. The pretest was administered to measure the students’ writing ability before the treatment while the posttest was administered to measure the improvement of the students’ writing ability after the treatment. In analyzing the data, the researcher used 0.05 level of significance and 51 degree of freedom (df). The t-counted was 12.70 and t-table was 1.663. The t-counted was greater than t-table, it means that the hypothesis was accepted. In other words the use of Team Assisted IndividualizationTechnique is effective to improve students’ ability to write Analytical Exposition Text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Palu.
