  • The application of an effective learning model is one of the determining factors for student learning success so it should be a concern for teachers in schools. The research conducted aims to improve the learning outcomes of Grade IV SDN 9 Sindue students in social studies learning by applying the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT). This type of classroom action research (CAR) is the type of research that will be used in the process of solving problems using 21 research subjects consisting of 11 male students and 10 female students. Data were collected in the form of qualitative and quantitative data by observation and learning outcome tests. The results showed an increase from cycle I to cycle II, the individual's absorption in cycle I was 61.42% with a classical percentage of mastery learning 52.38% and in the second cycle there was a significant increase in the absorption capacity of individuals increasing to 87.26 % with the percentage of mastery learning classical 95.23%. These results can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of the type of team games tournament (TGT) can improve the learning outcomes of students in grade IV SDN 9 Sindue in social studies learning.
