- Abstrak Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (research and development) dengan mengadopsi model Borg & Gall. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis model learning cycle serta mengetahui kelayakan bahan ajar yang telah dikembangkan. Tahap pengembangan tahun pertama ini dibatasi pada tiga tahap yaitu 1) tahap studi pendahuluan dan pengumpulan informasi, 2) perencanaan, 3)pengembangan produk awal dan validasi ahli. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi, lembar angket, lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data yangdigunakan adalah statistika deskriptif. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: 1) produk yang dikembangkan berbentuk modul pembelajaran IPS berbasis learning cycle denganpokok bahasan gejala alam dan cara menghadapinya, 2) hasil telaah kelayakan oleh ahli menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar berbentuk modul yang dikembangkan sangat layakuntuk digunakan pada perkuliahan Materi Pembelajaran IPS di SD sehingga dapat mendukung kompetensi profesional mahasiswa PGSD UAD. Kata kunci : bahan ajar, learning cycle, kompetensi professional. Abstract This study is research and development adopting Borg & Gall model. The aim of this study is to develop of teaching materials based on learning cycle model and the feasibility of teaching materials. This first year development is limited to three stages:1) the preliminary study and information collection, 2) planning, 3) the initial product development and validation by experts. The research instrument used was validation sheet, questionnaire sheet, and observation sheet. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics technique. The results of the study are: 1) the developed product is module of Social Science learning material based on learning cycle on the subject of naturalphenomena and that mitigation, 2) validation by experts showed that the developed teaching material module is very feasible to be used for lectures in Social Science Learning Materials in Elementary School so that it could support the professionalcompetence of the college students of Elementary School Education Department, UAD.Keywords: teaching material, learning cycle, professional competence.
