The title of this research is “The Correlation of Crime News Show Rapes and Robberies on Public Transportations with Women’s Attitudes toward Public Transportations.”The objectives of this research are to determine the correlations of the intensity of the news, the contents of the messages/news contents, and news fascinations with women’s cognitive, affective, and conative toward public transportations.The method of this research is survey method with a correlation technique that uses descriptive data analysis and inferential statistics through Spearman Rank test of hypothesis (Rs). Data collection techniques of research conducted through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and literature study. The number of samples in this research was as many as 114 people who were selected through multi-stage cluster sampling. However, the questionnaires returned totaled 106, then the data is processed a total of 106 questionnaires of the research. A technique of data collection is done using questionnaires, interviews, observation, and literature study. This research uses Cultivation Theory of George Gerbner.The results of this research are: there is a significant correlation of the intensity of the news with cognitive aspects of women toward public transport, a low but definite correlation of the intensity of the news with affective and conative aspects of women toward public transport, a significant correlation of the news content with cognitive, affective, and conative aspects of women toward public transport, and a low but definite correlation of the attractiveness of the news with cognitive, affective, and conative aspects women toward public transportation.The conclusion of this research is the crime news show rapes and robberies on public transportations could form women's attitudes toward public transportations.The suggestion of this research is Metro TV should pay more attentions to the crime news by the intensity of the news, the contents, and the attractiveness of the news.
