Daftar Isi:
- An analysis of correlation between sizes of the trees and buttresses size from various trees species was done in Arboretum Anggori Manokwari. These variables are numerical variables or ordered categories. Measurement of the strength of the association were using statistical test Pearson correlation coefficient. Analysis suggested that There is a correlation between two numerical variables (Height of the trees Vs buttresses area). The value of r (0.55) for the relationship between tree height and buttress confirms the scatter plot that the relationship is positive (x and y increase together) and relatively strong. Standard error (SE) for “r value” and approximate confidence limit for ρ calculated with confidence level 95%. The lower confidence limit is above zero, which tells that there is a significant correlation. The upper confidence limit is 0.55 which tell that the strength of the correlation is moderate. Testing the null hypothesis of zero correlation to answer the question of whether correlation exists and its significant level. There is a positive significant association between tree height and buttress size (r = 0.55, t(2)23 = 3.16, P < 0.01).Key Words: Buttresses, Tree Height, tree buttress correlation, rainforest, Australia
