- Kemuning (Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack) is one of Indonesia medicine plants. Kemuning leaves can be used to decrease cholesterol. The experiment was aimed to make tablets of kemuning leaves extract with gelatin as binding agent that fulfilled the requirements of tabletâ€TMs physical quality. Extract of kemuning leaves was obtained from kemuning leaves powder by maceration method using ethanol 70%. The obtained extract was soaked for several days and then evaporated till thick extract was obtained. Kemuning leaves extract tablets were made in 3 formulation with difference concentrations of binding agent, i.e. formula I contained 1% of gelatin mucilage 5%, formula II contained 2% and formula III contained 3%. The method used to make tablets of kemuning leaves extract was wet granulation method. The obtained granules were physically tested in cluding flowing time, the angle of repose, and loss on drying. The obtained tablets were physically tested including weight homogeneity, hardness, friability and disintegration time. The obtained data was statistically analyzed using SPSS 11.0 for windows program i.e. one way anova added with one factor at 95% convidence. The conclusion of the experiment was that kemuning leaves extract could be made tablets that fulfilled therequirement of tabletâ€TMs physical quality. The result of the experiment showed that the three formulations produced tablets with weight homogeneity, hardness, friability and disintegration time that fulfilled the requirement of good physical quality of tablet.
- Kemuning (Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat tradisional Indonesia. Daun kemuning dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai obat penurun kolesterol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat tablet ekstrak daun kemuning dengan bahan pengikat gelatin yang memenuhi persyaratan mutu fisik tablet yang bias diterima. Ekstrak kental daun kemuning diperoleh dengan cara maserasi serbuk daun kemuning dengan penyari etanol 70%, kemudian ekstrak yang diperoleh direndam selama beberapa hari kemudian dipekatkan hingga didapat ekstrak kental. Pembuatan tablet ekstrak daun kemuning dibuat dengan tiga formula dengan masing-masing konsentrasi bahan pengikat yang berbeda antara lain formula I mengandung mucilago gelatin 5% sebanyak 1%, formula II sebanyak 2%, dan formula III sebanyak 3%. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan tablet ekstrak daun kemuning adalah dengan metode granulasi basah. Granul yang diperoleh diuji sifat-sifat fisiknya meliputi waktu alir, sudut diam, susut pengeringan granul. Tablet yang diperoleh dilakukan uji mutu fisik yang meliput uji keseragaman bobot, uji kekerasan, uji kerapuhan, dan uji waktu hancur. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa secara statistik dengan menggunakan program SPSS 11.0 for windows yaitu uji one way anova diperluas dengan penambahan satu faktor pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak daun kemuning dapat dibuat tablet yang memenuhi persyaratan uji mutu fisik tablet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga formula menghasilkan tablet dengan keseragaman bobot, kekerasan tablet, kerapuhan dan waktu hancur yang memenuhi persyaratan mutu fisik tablet yang baik.
