- This research aimed to find out what kind of coping strategies used by women in handling sexual harassment at work. Sexual harassment can just be happened to anyone, anywhere, and in any kind of job. The sexual harassment at work happened repeatedly. Victims can influenced in their daily life, therefore they need to coping with to restrain the problem. In-depth interview used in this research started from June 18th 2004 till December 18th 2004. Four subjects aged 23-26 years participated and analyzed with coping theory of Folkman, Lazarus, Dunkel-Schetter, DeLongis, and Gruen (1986). Research shown the existence of tendency that subjects overcome sexual harassment at work by trying to report the problem (planful problem solving), searching others’ support (seeking social support), not tell anybody include family members and friends at work about the problem (self-control), and avoid the perpetrator (escape-avoidance).
