  • This research aimed to describe students problem solving skill in mathematics using scaffolding. This research is descriptive research with 32 students of VII.1 class at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Raja. The technique for collecting data was a test which include of three problems. According to the results of research, it obtained that representation of students problem solving skill in mathematics learning using scaffolding on VII.1 class at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Raja is enough with this detail: percentage of students who have problem solving skill with category excellent is 0%; 20,7% have problem solving skill with category good; 69% have problem solving skill with category medium; and 10,3% have problem solving skill with category bad.
